can i have paragard inserted while having herpes?

i think i may have herpes but everytime i get checked out every std test is negative and docs say i dont have it.i never see herpes bumps only once in a blue moon i may have a small rash on inner thighs that may itch or shed dead skin when scratched(very rarely).im currently using depo provera but want to get an iud (paragard or mirena)whichever has the most benefits.even though docs say i dont have it i still think i do anyway so i would like to know if you can have paragard inserted if you have herpes?or mirena, also i would like to know which iud has the highest risk of PID.can you have a iud if u have active herpes, have u ever heard of this?please help me i need serious answers.im due for my next depo provera shot this coming tuesday and i want to tell my doc that i want to switch to a paragard or mirena.thank you in advance.

Herpes is usually very painful. There is no mistaking an outbreak! Get tested for the antibodies to know for sure. Even if you do end up having it, you can still get an IUD. It is just best recomended to not do it while you are actively broken out.
