I've heard between 12 hours and 3 days is pretty normal for a lot of people. I guess it takes a couple days to digest meat, so if you eat a lot of it...well, you know.

You might need more water in your diet. You should have the right balance of fiber and water, you can't just add more fiber without adding water, too.
