Feverfew for migraines?
Does feverfew really help with migraine headaches? How long does it take to notice improvement?

Yes, it does help RELIEVE the pain, since its targets are the inhibition of prostaglandins and serotonin release, which by the way, are the culprits of the pain that is felt during attacks. But since its targets are not really the main cause of migraine, this therapy is still SYMPTOMATIC and prophylactic. It can LIMIT the frequency, but it CANNOT REALLY treat the migraine.
Feverfew takes effect after 4-6 weeks of treatment for results to be noticable. And you should be very COMPLIANT with ur meds for this treatment to work. Be patient.
However, this is of no help if you have an acute attack...
