Worried :*(?

HPV can be spread by skin to skin contact.
What does skin to skin contact actshally mean???
Does it just mean 2 people being naked together???
Could I have gotten it from someone who has it if my skin touched her or his skin???
Best answer:
The bad news: HPV can and is spread by skin to skin contact. "Skin to skin" means literally that; if your skin touched theirs, it was skin to skin contact.

There are, however, many types of wart-causing strains of HPV, and (much like herpesvirus) a strain which specifically causes hand warts (like HPV-2) canNOT be transmitted to the genitals.

Based on your apparent distress, I would guess you probably are concerned about contracting one of the genital wart strains.

While genital-to-genital contact is generally the gold standard for determining genital-strain-HPV infection, there really are too many variables to consider online. If you are concerned, I would schedule an appointment with a healthcare professional who can better evaluate the individual circumstances.
